This is one of those moments that are rare these days. Upon growing as tall as his mom, reaching first grade and becoming "cool" I don't find Tyler looking to cuddle with me much. Part is of this is due to logistics, how do you hold a child that is the same length as you? Whose arms can circle your waist one and a half times if arms did that sort of thing?
The answer is, just like this. I was sitting on the couch, minding my own business and here comes my to-cool-for-this-nonsense kid. And he just climbs up and chills with me for a record 30 minutes. Best 30 minutes I've had with this kid in a long time. I started thinking about how I would have given anything to have 30 minutes without having to hold Ty when he was a baby. My how time changes things.

Precious moments

Isn't it amazing how things change once our kids don't need us as much? Emma's the same way - she rarely gets lovey with me anymore and when she does I'm in mommy heaven! He's such a darling boy Kelly. I LOVE the look on his face - he's so content just hanging out with mom!
I know! That is one of my favorite looks! Sad how un-cuddly they get when they're older!
Ty looks so big! I can't believe his growth spurt. He's going to be the next Jazz player before you know it!
I love it anytime my kids want to come and cuddle, and unfortunately it's rare because they are constantly wanting to be out playing.
Glad Ty had a nice birthday.
So sweet!
I keep reminding myself that someday I will miss laying down with them at bedtime and rocking in the middle of the night. What a sweet picture of the two of you!
