April fools!

What are the Gough's eating for dinner this April? You got it, Meatloaf, Peas and mash potatoes with gravy.......or is it?

I let the kids lull themselves into a false sense of security this year by not even mentioning April fools to them. They were innocently going about their day, thinking they were safe, until I served up some dinner. Jake was not impressed. He hates potatoes and green veggies, I offered to pay him to eat, he said ok. One bite later he says, wow mom, these potatoes taste like ice cream, I like mashed potatoes. Oops. Not where I was going with that! It took Tyler explaining they weren't real potatoes and finally the light bulbs appeared above their heads shining brilliantly!

We enjoyed our "dinner" of cocoa krispie treats, ice cream with caramel sauce and airheads rolled into peas. Then went to Chili's for real food. It was really fun and I have to say, I got them good this year. I'm already thinking what next year will bring....

That is so cool. You are such an awesome mom. Can I steal that idea for my kids next year?
