The New Table!!

Tuesday we went and picked up our new table. They mistakenly ordered 6 chairs for us instead of 4, which was fine because we wanted 6 anyways and would have ordered two more. So it saved us some trouble of going back to SLC for 2 chairs! I put the table together that night, and have spent 2 days assembling the chairs. It is finally finished and here is the end result! I'm just thrilled with how it looks! Especially with the new couches!

One man's junk....

So, to keep my captivated audience informed about the couches, we still LOVE our new ones, and I've finally listed my old couches on the free section of KSL. Well, within literally 15 seconds, enough time for me to log off, stand up, push in my chair and turn around, the phone rang. She will be coming to pick them up tomorrow, sight seen only through a really crummy picture. I then left for the gym, and returned to 16 messages (this is an hour later) and 6 emails. Who knew? I guess what I'm sick of, someone else is crazy for! I'll be glad to get them out of the living room, right now we have two sets of couches, and two sets of love seats. It's a little crowded. You can't walk thru to the kitchen right now. Hopefully our new kitchen table will come soon and I can start the whole process over again with the old one.

Off the straight and narrow...lego path

Yesterday, Brian conducted his first daddy's interviews with Jake and Tyler. Where they sit down individually with Brian and talk about what's going on in their lives, and whatever they want to talk about. So after chatting with Tyler about how during daddy interviews, he can talk to dad about whatever he wants, tell him anything and not be in trouble, just talk it out, Brian asked if there was anything Tyler wanted to talk about.

Well, Tyler gets all serious and says:

"Yes there is something I need to talk about, it's my legos. I'm having some problems with the ones I got for Christmas, some of them aren't going together right, and some of them aren't doing the things they are supposed to do."

It was just so cute that he was really concerned for his legos. We realized after Brian told me all this, that we need to enjoy the days when the big problems are about legos!

So, we have discovered a little friend in our house. I mouse is in the house. Where from, we do not know. But since the mouse was not invited in, we are in the process of ridding ourselves of the offender. So as part of the process, we bought a series of mouse traps. In an effort to keep the kids from snapping off a finger by touching a mouse trap, Brian decided to set one and show them how it works. This is the set trap.

Brian then proceeded to set off the trap, with a pencil. The metal part flung itself over and landed on the "bait" part. Brian then asks Tyler, what does the mouse trap do when you touch the yellow part? Thinking Tyler would have picked up on the fact that metal slams down where the mouse is supposed to be, was a little surprised when Tyler answers, "It throws mouses". Totally serious, he though the mouse would perch on the metal and be flung across the room, in an effort to amuse the mouse. Since he does this sort of thing with his army men, I can see where the thought process came from, however, it didn't really serve to teach the lesson we were going for. We've resolved to use "live catch" traps, in an effort to save potential mishaps with army men, going for a ride on the flinging mouse traps!

Tyler doing the back float, and red light green light

This was safety day for Jake's class, they were learning how to be safe in the water.
Way to go Jake with the wild yellow suit!

And here's Ty on the old couch. Huge size difference!

This is Ty on the new couch, he looks so little on this one!
